Farmer’s Market Community Round Up

Gardeners: Order Cool Season Plants Now

A limited quantity of cool season transplants (broccoli, red and green cabbage, lettuce and parsley) will be available to community gardeners this weekend. You have until this Friday, March 27 to tell your garden leader how many you could use!

Broadway Christian Organizing Meeting

Broadway Christian Church gardeners will meet this Saturday, March 28 at 11 am in the church’s fellowship hall. Contact Don Day if you want to garden there, but cannot attend.

Benton-Stephens Up and Running

The Benton-Stephens garden reports on it’s new web site that they have had good success so far getting things planted.

We now have the following vegetables and seeds in the ground:
Peas, Lettuce, Spinach, Carrots, Radish, Beets, Onions, Swiss Chard

They have work days currently scheduled every Thursday from 3:30-6:30 pm and every Saturday from 12-4 pm

The Circus Lyon garden has arranged the following two workshops. All community gardeners are welcome to attend.

Alice Havard will talk on Saturday March 28 at 10 am at the Circus Lyon Garden for about a half hour on Succession Planting and Companion Planting.  The Circus Lyon Garden is located 1 block south of the cross walk at Jefferson Jr. High School.

On Saturday April 11, Adam Saunders will talk at 10 am at the St. Joseph garden on Composting.  The St. Joseph garden is located 2 blocks north of Broadway and 1 block west of College Ave.
