9th_0622Is the garlic you planted last fall showing springy green shoots? This photo was taken a couple of years ago in late February at the Ninth St. garden, so you can see how it might look at this point in late winter. Our winter has been cold, but fall-planted garlic should have survived.

Community Gardening Kick-Off

This is the best opportunity to find out about community gardens in your neighborhood, meet garden leaders and other gardeners and sign up for a plot of your own. Newcomers are welcome. If you’ve thought of starting a garden in your neighborhood this is also the time to get information about how to do so.

Garden Planning Meeting

It is that time of year again! (Time to begin the planning for this next garden season.) All those who are interested in having a garden spot, please contact me. We are also looking for people to take a leadership role in coordinating garden efforts. I will soon have a list of leadership roles to be filled. One part of this will be co-coordinator of the garden. There is much that can be done this year to increase yields. Our initial meeting will be to assign garden plots, assign roles, and set garden work-days for the early spring. I invite all who are interested to attend this meeting.
